David was more than just the king of Israel. A talented singer and song-writer, David would often pen Psalms praising the Lord for His deliverance, salvation, and might. Near the end of David's life he thanks God for all that He has done throughout David's life (2 Sam. 22:1-25). Through the many ups and downs of David's life, God was always present.
Consider your life and its many ups and downs. Similarly to David, God has been present throughout the changes in your life too. How have you responded to Him? Though the circumstances in our life may not always be good, God always is and we need to take time often to reflect on that fact. Praise God often for His deliverance, salvation, and might. Thank Him for the blessings in your life. Hold Him up as Lord and show Him appreciation for all He has done.
Write your own psalm. We may not be as musical or poetic as David, but we are capable of being as open and thankful as he was to God. Be specific and thank God for the things in your life that mean the most to you. Praise and appreciate God for all He has done.
