Vacation Bible School (VBS) begins soon, so I thought I'd take the time to write out an article talking about what exactly we'll be doing throughout the week of VBS (June 18th-21st). Use this as a shareable document to tell others about our VBS coming in just a couple of weeks!
What's the Theme?
The theme of our VBS this year is "Kingdom Explorers". Our classroom and hallway will be decorated like campgrounds with treasure all around. I'm told that there will even be a world famous explorer walking around the building (and quite possibly a dinosaur). Each night will kick off with singing and a video from world famous explorer Harrison Jones who will talk to us each day about what it takes to be a great explorer. His tips will no doubt be helpful in filling out the map our explorers will get on Monday night.
What Will We Be Doing?
Classes - each night the explorers will have a class focusing on something God does for us and how he wants us to do those things for others. Throughout the week we'll study about how God cares for us, gives to us, listens to us, and provides for us.
We will also have a second class called Bible Drill where the explorers will learn through various adventure themed games and activities.
Games - While fueling up for the adventure ahead during snack time, the explorers will get outside and train for their journey ahead.
Crafts - Each day our explorers will work on crafts that will be useful throughout their expedition and reinforce the lesson for the day.
We're very excited about VBS this year and hope that you will be able to join us June 18th-21st from 6:30-8:00 PM each night. This event is free and for all children ages 3 years old through 5th grade. You can preregister here, or by signing up in person when you arrive.
