What 2019 Looks Like

In just a few short days 2019 will be upon us. As we think about the beginning of another year consider these words of Solomon: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) For some 2019 will bring great joy and for others pain. Some will experience new beginnings and others will see chapters close. New Christians will need encouragement to keep up the fight, and older Christians will need the encouragement to continue forward. You will meet new people and continue developing lifelong friendships. You will have opportunities to be more involved, to encourage, to love, to help, to cry, and to grow. While we do not know exactly what lies be

We Have a Better Covenant

In the television show Deal or No Deal, contestants choose between 20+ briefcases filled with varying amounts of money from one dollar to the ultimate prize of one-million dollars. As briefcases are knocked off the board the potential to win the million-dollar prize increases (unless that briefcase has been eliminated). Absolutely not! Paul isn’t telling Timothy that he pr

Below is a prayer we posted just a few days ago to our Mannford Church of Christ Facebook page. We post a prayer at the beginning of every month for children, their parents, and others involved in their life (teachers, ministers, etc.). Jesus intends for us to be heavily involved in prayer for one another, in good times and in bad (Matthew 6:9-13). As you read this prayer, consider all of those that need you to be praying for them and realize as well that there are many people praying for you. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3 Father, we thank You for the gift of our children. We thank You for giving us souls to mold and shape into
